Product Specialist - Accounting & Bookkeeping
About Mimo
Mimo is an AI-native platform for accounting firms. We automate the recurring work inside the monthly close, from chasing client documents and reconciling transactions to posting adjustments and reviewing VAT before it is filed, so accountants spend their time on judgement instead of admin.
Accounting is being rebuilt around AI right now. We intend to be the ones who rebuild it, and to help the firms that get there first do the best work of their careers. We are a team of 35 across Stockholm and London, backed by top European investors including Northzone and Project A, growing rapidly across the UK's top 10-250 firms, with new markets next.
The role
An AI agent posting adjustments is only as good as the accounting judgement behind it. Someone has to decide what correct looks like, then hold the product to it.
We're now looking for someone who has done this work in practice to bring that judgement inside the product. You'll be the person our engineers ask when they need to know how a prepayment should be treated, whether a coding suggestion holds up, and where the standards leave room for interpretation. It's a chance to use everything you know about accounting to build something that changes how the work is done, rather than doing it by hand one more month.
What you’ll do
Act as subject-matter expert on accounting and bookkeeping, directly influencing how our products are built
Evaluate AI agents on accounting and bookkeeping tasks for accuracy and compliance.
Structure and refine training data for AI models and agents, working across tasks such as invoice data extraction, account coding, posting adjustments, sense checking and product working papers
Collaborate with product and engineering teams, translating the needs of public practice into product features
Feed insights back into the product and data teams to continuously improve performance
What you’ll bring
3+ years experience in UK public-practice accounting/bookkeeping, ideally in an outsourced finance team at a top-100 firm.
Deep understanding of UK accounting standards (e.g. UK GAAP, FRS 102, FRS 105)
Familiarity with leading accounting platforms such as Xero and QBO, automation tools such as Dext and Syft, and workflow tools such as Silverfin
Ability to bridge accounting, tech and product conversations.
Curiosity about AI, automation, and improving workflows.
Pragmatic and collaborative in how you work
Bonus:
Qualified accountant/bookkeeper (ACCA, ICAEW, AAT or similar).
Experience working with product teams, accounting software vendors, or projects to drive efficiency across a practice
Why join us
A generational opportunity to shape the future of public practice accounting
Use your practice experience in a completely new way, breaking into tech
Work closely with product and engineering, where your judgement directly shapes what gets built
Competitive pay and equity, so you have a stake in what we're building together
